This Privacy Notice explains how we at The Old Bakery Georgeham use any personal information we collect about you.

What information we collect about you

When you make a booking with us we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying, the home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking.

We may also collect a debit or credit card number to take the deposit unless you choose to pay by cheque or bank transfer.

For commonwealth guests we will also record your nationality.

For non commonwealth guests we will record your name, nationality, passport number, and address of next destination.

How we use the information we hold on you

We normally deal with guests by email and will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking and more details on how to find us and other information you mayfind useful for your stay.

If you pay by card we use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card. If you prefer not to correspond by email we will use your home address to communicate by post.

How your data stored

Your card details will be deleted as soon as we have received payment in to our account.

The information we collect is recorded on a password protected spreadsheet on a computer that is also password protected.


We would like to stay in touch with you to send information about The Old Bakery, eg any special offers or local events. We send occasional e-newsletters (normally no more than 2 or 3 a year) to people on our distribution list.

The distribution list is managed by a secure third party, Mailchimp.

We will not add you to our distribution list unless you expressly ask us to do so, so if you would like to opt in to receive these e-newsletters please click here

If you opt in, we will pass your first name, last name and email address to Mailchimp. Please refer to Mailchimp's privacy policy for information on how they handle your data. This is the only third party to whom we pass your details unless required for legal purposes.

You may change your preferences or unsubscribe via Mailchimp at any time.

We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, again, please see Mailchimp's privacy policy.

Cookies and Google Analytics

When you visit this website your IP address, browser and version, operating system and the site you came from are stored in a log file. This information is only used for statistical purposes to help improve this site. Log files do not contain any personal information.

We do not use cookies for collecting personal information and we will not collect any information about you except that required for administration.

When someone visits the web site we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.


Free wifi is available to guests staying at The Old Bakery We do not routinely collect any data but we reserve the right to collect data about

a) your device;
b) the volume of data which you use;
c) the websites and applications which you access; and
d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.
