The Old Bakery Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Old Bakery. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our home.

When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us so please read these Terms and Conditions to ensure we are the right B&B for you.

Smoking

Please note that we are non-smoking in both the house and grounds.

Minimum Number of Nights

We normally operate a minimum 2 night policy particularly during the high season and at weekends. In the event that we are able to accept a one night booking we reserve the right to charge a supplement on the quoted prices.

Dogs & Pets

We do not allow guests to have dogs or any other pets in bedrooms or guest areas.

We do, however, have our own elderly English Springer so The Old Bakery may not suitable for people with significant dog allergies or phobias, although she is strictly not allowed in guest bed rooms.

Bookings, Cancellation and Insurance

To confirm a reservation we ask for a deposit equal to one night's stay for each room booked. This should reach us within 5 days of making the reservation, after which we reserve the right to re-let the room. The balance is payable when you stay, or prior to arrival if paying by bank transfer (see below methods of payment).

If you have to cancel up to fourteen days before arrival, we will refund your deposit less a £10 administration fee per room. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of arrival, we regret the deposit will not be refunded and the full balance will be due unless we are able to re-book the room, in which case we will make a 75% refund.

We cannot enforce the payment of the balance if you cancel and rely on your good will to do so. To cover this eventuality you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.

Prices and How to Pay

We charge a room rate and the price includes your accommodation and breakfast. There are no reductions for children, but we do not charge for infants and babies in cots so long as guests bring all their own bedding and food. All extras such as additional meals, telephone, drinks etc are additional.

If you use internet banking our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer and details of our account will be provided when you book. However, we can also accept payments by debit or credit card (but not American Express or Dinner), cheque or cash.

Deposits paid by card can be made over the phone. Cheques should be made out to "The Old Bakery" and posted to The Old Bakery, Chapel Street, Braunton, EX33 1JJ.

Arrival and Departure Times

We ask guests to arrive between 4 and 7pm and to vacate their rooms by 10.30am on day of departure. We would appreciate it if you can let us know roughly when to expect you. Please note we may be out during the day and in the evening so it is important to let us know if you plan to arrive before 4pm or after 7pm. If you arrive before 4pm we will try to have your room ready but cannot guarantee it, though you are welcome to drop off luggage.

We do have early check in and late check out options – see the web site for details.

Non-availability

We will only cancel your booking if your accommodation is unavailable for reasons beyond our control. In the unfortunate event that this happens, we will make every effort to offer you alternative accommodation. However if this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, then we will refund all monies paid by you. Our liability will not extend beyond this refund.

Damages and Breakages

This is our home and we ask you please to take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We reserve the right to charge you for any repairs, making good or replacement costs we may incur.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
There is a pool in a private part of the garden but it is half filled with rubble and not in use and guests are asked to stay away from it.

Children under the age of 18 must at all times be supervised by an adult when using the pool.
